Emily Cole, MPA

Emily Cole, MPA has worked extensively with community and public health agencies, state health officials, and other non-profit and public entities since moving to Columbus, Ohio from northern Virginia in 2012. Emily graduated from The Ohio State University John Glenn College of Public Affairs in 2013 with her Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, and has worked with state and local agencies to improve access to and the quality of healthcare available in local communities. She has a keen interest in healthcare access, data analytics, and quality improvement science as a method for improving the health of all Ohioans. She worked previously at the Health Policy Institute of Ohio as a Research Assistant and the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center as a Program Coordinator. Emily currently works as a Consultant to community health centers (also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers) through Transformative Consulting, LLC.

Through her work with Transformative Consulting, LLC Emily provides the following services:

  • Conducts health care market analyses, and research, and develops various reports and products including Community Health Needs Assessments, Environmental Scans, and other similar tools for strategic planning and similar purposes;
  • Develops, administers and analyzes questionnaires, facilitate focus groups and interviews, and prepares summary reports and analyses with community stakeholders, patients, or employees of clients;
  • Develops grant proposals and provides grant management for clients;
  • Other services as requested.


In addition to her MPA, Emily also has a B.S. in Economics and B.S. in Political Science, International from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Emily is trained in quality improvement methodology through the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), and has a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt. She lives in Hilliard, Ohio.

Eric Davies

Principal Consultant


 


Eric has more than two decades of experience in working with community and public health programs, neighborhood revitalization organizations and other non-profit and public entities. He has a keen interest in health care access, public health, livable communities, and active mobility (walking, bicycling and public transportation).  As a part of his commitment to healthier places and populations, he has worked with the nation’s community health center program (also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers) for more than 20 years. He worked for nine years with the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers, and for the past 11 years has contracted directly with health centers in Ohio and other states to assist them to shape and implement strategies to leverage funds, expand services and programs, improve operations and governance, and increase access to healthcare for underserved urban and rural populations.


He formed Transformative Consulting, LLC in 2010 to enhance the level of services and expertise provided to the health centers and other similar clients.  In addition he also has a passion for and commitment to healthy neighborhoods and has worked as an advocate and strategist for creating walkable communities, better public transit, complete streets and the creation and preservation of green spaces in urban and rural areas. Eric has a B.S. in Journalism from Bowling Green State University (Ohio), and also has been trained in health center governance and the Art of Empowerment for business and organizations. He lives in Columbus, Ohio.
